About Kariyushi
Smart, casual clothing for the tropics.
Kariyushi is an Okinawan word meaning 'auspicious' or 'abundance'. While it is often used to describe the richness of the Okinawan islands, most people in Japan these days associate it with the Okinawan style of clothing- Kariyushi wear.

Similar in style to Hawaiian Aloha shirts, Kariyushi wear shirts are designed with bright, bold patterns and are meant to be worn loose, ie not tucked in. To receive the official Kariyushi wear mark of approval (as shown here), these shirts have to be entirely made in Okinawa and use imagery unique to the Okinawan islands.
Smart but cool and comfortable, these shirts have largely replaced formal shirts and neckties in the workplace during the hot summer months in Okinawa. They can be worn with jeans, shorts, skirts or formal trousers to suit almost any occasion. Distinctive Asian styling is sure to make you stand out from the crowd.
